. this is ktvu channel 2 morning news. >> good morning. thank you for joining us on this wednesday, september 1s, i am pam cook. >> good morning. i am dave clark. we want for get straight to breaking news that is happening right now, this morning. the breaking news is that -- [ inaudible ] >> -- spree. at this point five people are confirmed dead, including the suspect. bodies have been found in hercules, richmond and vallejo, bomb squad units are at two locations. claudine wong starts our coverage in vallejo. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. we have moved over. we are in the yard next to a storage facility. you can see behind me the bomb squad here working a storage locker. we are told by our police sources that this is all related to this case. the bomb squad actually has two locations in vallejo they are trying to get to. they are trying to process this one and one on upland court. that one is secondary. we were just over on upland court and that is where police say the bodies of two women were found overnight. the husband of one of those women has been taken into custody. and those d
from highway 24. jade hernandez is out there on the scene. jade, what can you tell us? >> reporter: well, pam, i can tell you right now we have some good news. we've heard about 20 minutes ago they were able to cap this line. there was some difficulty though overnight. this happened around 11:20 last nighttime. here's the reason for the difficulty. crews were digging at three different spots. in those three different spots they had to be capped before the crews could stop the leak. at first pg&e thought this was a six inch break around 11:30 last night. so the fire department evacuated about 14 homes. then as knowledge spread that the line was only two inches, those families were allowed back inside. the fire department said there was no reason to be concerned about this gas leak. the chief told us that the gas was dissipating into the atmosphere. >> i just think that there's this heightened awareness of the potential of natural gas leaks and what could occur. yeah. we responded just like we would have responded any way. i think that the public's going to be more concerned. >> repo
